Today jewelry making is very exciting!! We can make almost anything we can think of using new technology now available to us. It is called CAD CAM. We are able to program a computer, with the help of a specialist in engineering. We can create 3 dimentional pictures of actual rings before they are made. The computer then carves the wax which is then casted into the actual ring using the lost wax casting method. It is all very facinating!! YOU can be part of the process if you choose to make your jewelry in this way.
First, you must have an idea of what you want. Think of the ring that you always wanted or imagined owning. If you have trouble, come into the store and we will show you lots of samples of rings that we have made and rings that we are in the process of creating.
Second, bring in pictures and ideas to discuss with us. We are here to help you create the piece. We do not expect you to control everything. Sometimes pieces turn out better if you let us join you in the creative process.
Third, know that it takes time to create a ring like this. WE ARE NOT MCDONALDS! We need sometimes 2-3 weeks just to program the computer. The computer takes 48 hours to make the wax. Then finishing, setting, and polishing can take another 2 weeks. If you want the ring engraved, that can take 2 weeks. So the total process can take 4 to 6 weeks to complete, sometimes longer if changes are made along the way.
Some examples of our rings will soon be put onto the website.
